What does a PFH professor do in Brussels?

Yesterday was the day again…
Meeting of 𝗔𝗥/𝗩𝗥-𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 in Brussels. It was great to meet many friends from the industry in person again and to discuss and advance the topic of AR/VR in a European context.

𝗔𝗯𝗲𝗿… 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗖𝗛 𝗱𝗮 𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗵?

I’ve been working in this field for several years and consider AR/VR to be one of THE technologies of the future, which could develop enormous potential, especially with the advent of AI.

As a professor at the PFH Private University of Applied Sciences Göttingen, the area of “𝘌𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯” is particularly important to me, and as a practitioner, the area of “𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘈𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴”.

𝘒𝘰𝘯𝘬𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘉𝘦𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘭: we are currently discussing a 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳-𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘨 “𝘝𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘛𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘴”, which is intended to bring together international experts in the field of AR/VR. I can feed the issues and challenges that we identify into the discussions of the AR/VR Coalition directly “from the field” and thus contribute to them, that framework conditions are created that then enable such study programs throughout the EU – which are then also written 𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝘂𝗻𝗸𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗻 and not as a paper tiger bypassing the topic.

For the PFH Private University of Applied Sciences Göttingen, this also creates new contacts, network partners, cooperations, opportunities for exchanging experiences and much more. Cooperation with other universities and colleges also leads to 𝗠𝗲𝗵𝗿𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝘂̈𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻.

Yes, it’s a lot of work. And there’s no money for it either. But I think it’s important to keep the topic of AR/VR on the agenda. Because this is no longer about clunky headsets.

𝗝𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗥-𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗮̈𝘁, 𝗷𝗲𝗱𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗻𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗸𝘂̈𝗻𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗴 “𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁” 𝘀𝗲𝗶𝗻. 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗲, 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗸𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗻 – 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝗵𝗼̈𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. 𝗪𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻!

And that’s why a professor at the PFH Private University of Applied Sciences Göttingen is traipsing around the EU. It’s as simple as that…
